Trade Sitting

I am having a difficult time getting up as early as required these winter months to get my workout in before my husband needs to get to school.  I am wondering if anyone would be interested in trading baby sitting.  I would like to start January 3 with the new semester.  I would need someone for about an hour starting at 7am then I could take your kids from 8-9am so you could get your workout in. Or the other way around I would take your kids at 7am and you would have mine at 8am.  We could even swap monitors if by chance the little ones are still sleeping.  Let me know if this interests you at all.  Thanks, LeighAnn 801-783-3802

Birthing Classes

So- for medical reasons I have decided that I am going to try to deliver this baby naturally (deep breath), and am going to start Bradley Method classes on January 5th. It's a 12 week program- every wed night at 6:30. I'm not sure how long they go, but I don't imagine it's more than an hour or possibly two. Anyways- I am looking for someone that I could switch some babysitting with one night/or day a week for a couple months so that we can go. Get a hold of Mary Ludwig if you are interested.

BYU Fitness Program

BYU has a fitness program that I personally love! It is well priced and they do early morning classes so I can go before my husband heads off to school. I have done yoga classes before and loved them. I am going to take the Pilates/Yoga Fusion class this semester. It is on Friday mornings from 6-6:50 a.m. It costs $45 for the combo pass which means you can take any class, any time. Last year they had one that was cheaper if you only wanted to take one class but I don't see it posted anywhere online. I will let you know when I go and sign up if there is still the one class option. But you just have to go to the RB office to sign up and pay and they give you a wristband. If anybody is interested in doing the Friday morning class with me, just let me know. It is always fun to have a partner and somebody to account to when that alarm clock goes off :) But even if you don't want to do that class, check out their other classes HERE

Service Opportunity

Hello Ladies,

It has come to a point where I have a very daunting task that I have to do in my classroom. If I try it by myself, it will take HOURS. If I have help, it can take a half hour. I need to assemble packets for 35 students. I would love all the help I can get. I have an assembly line set up and all we have to do is walk around and put together packets. There is a playground out in the back of the school, so perhaps some of you can come and someone can watch kids while we assemble packets. The more who come, the faster this will go. So please just get a group together and come and see my classroom!

I am hoping to do this Monday August 16th around TWO PM. I will even buy some 5 buck pizzas or something to entice you to come. Please let me know if you would be willing to come and help me out. It would mean the world to me. (And I really hate asking for help, but I don't have hours to waste assembling these packets.)

The school is Canyon Crest Elementary. The address is 4664 North Canyon Road. The school is locked, so I will wait outside at TWO. If you come early or later, just call me.

Thanks so much!

Kid Friendly Activities

Hey everyone!

I thought it might be fun to post ideas for kid friendly activities as we hear about them.

Here's a link to an activity at the Museum of Peoples and Culture that is happening this Monday. It's a hands on activity and refreshments are provided (yum!).

One thing that will continue throughout the month of July are the free programs at the Provo Library. Every T/Th at 12:00 they have Canopy Capers where they do story time outside on the grass and you can bring a picnic lunch. Also on T (10-12)/Th (3-5) they do Make and Take Crafts. Each week is a different theme and the crafts are divided up into age appropriate stations so all of your kids can have fun. Here's the link. [We try to go Tuesday to Canopy Capers and Thursday to Make and Take Crafts if anyone wants to join us or needs a ride]

If you ladies hear of other fun things, please post about them. We're always looking for fun things to do!

Walking Group

Hello Wymount Friends!

I have finally found out how to get on here and I have an invitation I'll throw out there for all you lovely ladies! Who wants to start walking with me every morning? I am thinking of walking Monday through Friday at around 7:30 in the morning for about a half hour or so. I'm hoping some of you will join me so I can feel accountable and feel like I have to be there. There are some days that it might be difficult for me (like this Tuesday), but I'd like to give it a try. I would be happy to help push a stroller or carry a baby if you want to bring company!

Anyway, if you are interested just let me know! I'm thinking of meeting at the Wymount Office and just walking wherever our feet take us. You can call me, text me or email if you want to join!

Love you ladies!

Bug in a Bag!

We just had Lily's one year birthday and we have a lot of stuff left over that you are welcome to come get from me if you are interested. The theme was ladybugs. We have a banner that says Happy Birthday, about 20 red and black M&M filled party favor bags that say 'thank you for coming to my party', red black and white streamers, and tons of ribbon to decorate with. I have been working on this party for a month now and I never want to see spots again! Lol. Come take it from me!

activity ideas needed for small children

Hey ladies!
I am in a nursing class this semester in which we are helping out at a refugee daycare in Salt Lake. I'm supposed to come up with 8 or 9 developmental activities for the kids to do. Does anyone have any ideas? I think the children are probably around preschool age (some younger and some may be older). I know some of you have been teachers and many of you have great ideas simply because you have kids and do activities with them all the time. So let me know what ideas you have--I'm not picky. They could be things like stringing fruit loops on a string or bean bag games...whatever ideas you have for activities for small children, let me know.

Thanks!

Neighborhood Preschool

I have been thinking a lot about preschool this year for Ethan and as I am sure is the case for most of you I don't have a ton of $ to spend on a program. I have heard that the head start through the district is more of a daycare than an actual learning environment. I do feel like I need the little bit of a break that having him in preschool would provide or else I would just teach him at home all on my own. So, here is what I am proposing. If we could get eight to ten moms of preschoolers together we could run our own preschool. We could rotate homes or maybe hold it in the basement. We could do it four days a week and have two moms at each session. That way each of us would have at least three days a week that our child was gone to preschool and we could get some things done around the house or spend some one on one time with our other children. We could get together and plan the curriculum out before school started, so that it wouldn't get too overwhelming during the school year. We could also each contribute some $ for art supplies and teaching tools, snacks etc. I don't have the details worked out I was just wanting to see if there was any interest before I got too far into planning. If you are interested or know anyone in wymount who would be interested have them email or call me. Thanks

Free Couch

We have a hide-a-bed couch that we would like to give away. The only cost is that you would have to come get it [and bring help because it's heavy]. It's usable, but I'm not gonna lie, it's not in great condition. If you're interested call Leah or Chad at 8-5173.
